Pay Taxes to Earn Merits, Cryptocurrency of The EU's Youngest Country

Liberland, the micronation located between Serbia and Croatia, will be celebrating its second anniversary next week. Zlatko Sucic, Liberland’s Commercial Attache to Serbia told a correspondent from Coinidol.com about the country’s own form of cryptocurrency, called Merit and the way to get citizenship of the state.

Sucic, along with Daniel Dabek, Architect and Founder of SafeExchange, spoke at the first Belgrade Bitcoin developers meetup.

“Merits will be our official currency, but the backing currency will be Bitcoin. And at some point, Safe Exchange Coin might take Bitcoin’s place as the backing currency.”

This is in particular for citizens of Liberland, or business owners. Also, please note the country is in early stages of establishment, but I am glad that we get to be apart of making history.
