The web server is down.

nmap -p 80 vote.forum.safex.org | grep ‘^\d’

really omni is not competition, you have to be playing the same game to be competing

Dally Shalla do you have plan to change SEC from omni protocol?

good question, though not at this time. Perhaps we can embed the SEC into the new network; however, I enjoy the infrastructure of Bitcoin as a redundant place to operate the token, and also voting is implemented against it.

There is technically not much required of Omni, the message inside the transaction is what it is. It can not be changed. Only risks is if in the future that the software of Omni gets changed and damages some coin. In this case we should produce our own software and maintain it, to protect our coin. I think the omni maintainers would face big issues if the they and founders tampered with the software. It would affect exchanges and other assets on the protocol as well. Critically unlikely scenario.

In summary: probably we will have our own set of applications for dealing with the bitcoin embedded asset SEC and right now and the foreseeable future we’re alright how it is.

sorry about that server went down, I am not running screen so my connection overnight got severed. when it’s 100% it’ll perpetually be running via screen

so we are safe but maybe you going to see if something more interesting can be done
dont u think that it is hard to have everybody change to different coins?

That’s a good point, it would be a hassle to notify everyone to switch over. I don’t want to leave anyone behind who owns SEC.

Depending on the development phase (vote.forum.safex.org is probably a staging server), here are several better tools for Node than screen:

the backend is finished, and what is left to do is the front end display of information and style. So probably Monday/Tuesday will make videos and can begin to review proposal by end of week.

Just curious: are there plans for unit testing?

Of course, I can take the time to include tests.

My thought goes like this: for this proposal will scrutinize all files associated with the vote, and anyone can as well (download all files and evaluate), and realize the same results. So there would be no way for anyone lose anything or be deceived with the vote in this.

Or we can wait up, I can make testing suite of all functions before going live with the application and doing a live vote.

Vote and Proposal creation takes place offline. Voting is 100% no internet connectivity required, and Proposal making makes a http get request to Omniwallet.org to get the list of addresses that are holding SEC.

If vote passes to proceed with our blockchain network, in such case I will take a snail approach and make very detailed implementation full of tests and published with documentation well in advance.

@dvnp do you have an opinion?

Nice!

Is it too complicated to create a reminder mailing list for new proposals?

I think this and a forum topic to discuss each proposal would be great!

See, in The Dao there were proposals, but it lacked of people voting (mean usually be like 5℅ of all holders or less). I think it happenned mainly for lazyness but also for ignorance of what was been voted.

Adding.

We need to understand what went wrong with the dao (before the hack)…

The lack of a “father” was one of the main reasons in my opinion. The Dao had “curators”, but when I asked one of them (that I met personally) about something, the guy was more lost than me lol.

Just saying that a “father” needs clear incentives… And commitment, of course…

The main question is how to encourage this? There will be miners and SEC holders with clear incentives. What about proposal’s SEC developers ?
