Safex live update: Ethereum swaps, marketplace upgrades and browser mining
Here’s the replay from my October 18 live, covering the latest work on Safex and where development is heading.
-
Ethereum swaps: ETH, USDT and USDC routes into SFX and SFT, expanding access beyond Bitcoin.
-
Future swap routes: Mapping liquidity across pools to find paths for additional tokens.
-
Marketplace V1 → V2: Updating V1 first, then advancing V2 with improved seller privacy and purchase accounting. These protocol changes involve hard forks, so careful testing and rollout matter.
-
Browser mining: The prototype was reaching roughly 950–1,000 H/s on my Ryzen 3900, up from around 300 H/s.
-
Wallet direction: Products front and center, merchant tools, a mining page and straightforward marketplace account registration.
-
Faucet protection: Making automated farming harder while keeping starter coins accessible to people getting started.
I also discussed how AI is accelerating the work, and why understanding the underlying cryptography, mathematics and architecture still matters.
