I have bitcoin in my Safex wallet, what happens to that when chil…or whatever it’s gunna be called kicks in?

You will make a transaction that converts safex (bitcoin blockchain) into safex (safex blockchain)

So I guess the bitcoin still stays there?

Yes any left over BTC stays there. I’d say you will need some BTC to do the transaction Dan spoke of. Just like any other omni-protocol transaction…

Then the rest of your BTC can be transferred out using any BTC wallet, just import the private key into a BTC wallet and do as you wish with that left over BTC.
