XMrig New Version

Hi Guys,

I want to update my xmrig to ensure its the latest version… i went to this website:

Got a few questions…

  1. which version should i take for windows?
  2. Can i replace the old config over the new?

Either of these…

You should be able to just use the old config.json, so keep a copy handy.

i am getting this error in the XMRIG

[2020-12-30 16:19:51.272] msr to write MSR registers Administrator privileges required.
[2020-12-30 16:19:51.272] msr FAILED TO APPLY MSR MOD, HASHRATE WILL BE LOW

Is there anyway i can fix this via config? please share

Have you gone into the xmrig file properties, made sure it shows as Unblocked (because you downloaded it from the internet), and then gone into the Compatibility tab and checked the box beside “Run in administrator mode”?

I can’t download, I get; failed - network error.

It was Avast blocking it !

dont get you. download from website?

you should be able to bypass it by disabling your antivirus if you dont know how to add an exception

Forget about it.

As far as I know you can’t put an exception on a download.

You need to shut down Avast-download-and reactivate.

exactly, just after now reading your posts, this error would pop up if I didn’t run with sudo

to download I would use wget <url> without the < > and fill in the URL and it will download whatever file is at the link you put after wget

thanks for posting your findings, and concerns!

Yoo Dabek, How far apart must i have cpu rigs spread apart stacked upwards in a well ventilated basement?

It really comes down to how many you have set up.

The main thing is actively drawing the heat OUT

I did not consider much the distance apart, 2 feet of clearance vertically, maybe 18 inches, and not much space in between rigs.

Having fans pushing air off of the rigs horizontally will work well if you’re planning to stack them on shelving

i think this may cover most of the issues you list here
