I am a strong believer of Safex but I just don’t wish to see Safex to fall into the cateogry as what’s similar to “penny stock” in a centralized exchange. A strong believer like myself will always want to buy while non-believer tend to sell.
Who’s benefiting in this case? I guess it’s the non-believers.
if you truly wish to buy-back Safex token, please place your order on an exchange like all of us do. Be it 1 BTC, 10BTC, or 100 BTC, at least we have an option to trade farily.
I thought about it, the only thing missing here is an expiration on the offer;
you and I and anybody has the right to buy coins openly this way. Afterall Safex is 100% decentralized; anyone can get into it or get out of it however they prefer. Our ICO 2 years ago was a 99% distribution; and the expenses have far exceed the incomings from there.
From my point of view this is a vision that I would go to the bone to make happen. Ups or downs.
I have vested interest to see Safex sufficiently funded and incentivized along the way but any action from the company shouldn’t derail the vision toward 100% decentralization and not letting anyone to have any reason to doubt that in order to make it a widely adopted platform and token.
In stock market when company wants to buy back stocks, they will also need buy back in open market. An expiration would be good but I personally believe the program should automatically expire when the trade can be done on a secure and functional exchange.
I thought this way about half an hour ago but then sa Dan said…
Couldnt I technically go to someone and Exchange my goat for some Safex if I wanted to? I Think on the Surface it looks a little unorthadox having the initial seller offering a blanket rebuy for anyone who wants it but i dont think it goes against decentralization.
Furthermore I have to assume that when the other new Exchanges come into play (oooo I hope thats soon) this rebuy offer will expire.
no offense to tradesatoshi, I’m glad they are there; but also is a bit unreliable cannot make new accounts for instance; enough on the matter, we agree.
I will add an expiration and conclude dealing with the existing offers.
You are right, I mean, Dan is a developer of Safex, but he is developing Safex for all of us, including him. So, if he wants to make an offer to buy, and if he has an interest, then go right ahead.
Honestly, I see thin not benefiting just short term speculators, who will, anyway, be better off by holding in a month or two…
Just caught up on the talk earlier. Intresting discussion, never really thought of the buy back programme from that point of view. I suppose it would have potentially made it very hard to buy any safex for less than 200, should the price go below. Very good idea for those looking to offload safex but actually not that good for those looking to get involved. 200 in my eyes would be a bargain in the future, but ofcorse everyone wants to get in as cheap as possible and that imposes a cap.
Over the weekend I tried to send some btc to buy safex was pending for almost 24 hours before the transfer completely failed. So much for having an exchange or block chain… Oh well
Thanks @dandabek for the buy back program. The program, like everything you will decide to do/not do, will benefit some and upset some. You can never please everyone. It will benefit the short term holders who are trying to offload and it will be a disadvantage for long term holders who are trying to get involved and /or buy more. I am one who’s been looking for an opportunity to acquire more safex and i agree with 200 sat being a bargain. I would totally put an order if it were available. However, the buy back program does not benefit me in this case. But i do get it, it will benefit long term holders in long term but not in short term if we are trying to get more! I think this is where you put investors/potential investors at a huge disadvantage by having access to buy coins back much easier than anyone else.
That is so kind of you. I am amongst the ones who bought it long back. I trust the project! I will wait for its utmost success. But it is still in my Bittrex account. Any suggested action I should take?
